In the current real estate market, with a price-point between $200,000 and $300,000, would-be home buyers better ready for  battle. After a recent two-day blitz, where Niwot Real Estate agent Tara Murphy wrote three offers (one of them in her car), her buyers still walked away empty-handed despite offering $15,000 above asking price.

WINC Hosts Trivia Event in Lafayette

The newly formed Women’s International Niwot Club (WINC) held a pub quiz recently at Bistro 95a in Lafayette. Quiz masters Dave and Jennifer Wilby challenged over 50 people with more than 80 trivia questions.

Ashley Beavers (Silver creek) is a starting outfielder for Dodge City Community College this spring. Beavers, a sophomore, is hitting .346 in 12 games with six runs scored and four RBI’s. Beavers had a single in two at-bats and drove in two runs in a 7-2 win over Vernon College Feb. 12, and followed with two hits and two runs scored in an 8-5 win over Luna Community College the next day.

The Cougar girls are thinking “3-peat” after winning the last two Class 4A State Track and Field Championships, and Coach Maurice Henriques is cautiously optimistic about their chances. Gone is multiple state titlist Elise Cranny, who now runs for Stanford University, but there is a wealth of talent and experience returning, along with some exciting newcomers.

Victoria Bromberg was a dancer with the New York City ballet for 13 years where she performed in George Ballanchine’s Concerto Barocco. The ballet is danced against the backdrop of a Johann Sebastian Bach score, where the ballerinas’ emotions tug at the heart as much as the violins they’re on stage to personify.
